This leading global manufacturer of specialist coated products has an opportunity for a Quality & Compliance Officer to join our team in Cheshire.
Job Purpose:
- Support the Head of Quality & Compliance to co-ordinate the quality process & systems within Tullis Russell.
- Be the go-to person on site for product & regulatory compliance e.g. food safety and any chemical composition requirements.
- Identify & develop processes to manage continuous improvement in the quality of all aspects of the value chain ensuring we make product in line with specification & that specification meets customer requirements.
- Manage the Lab Technician on a day-to-day basis.
- Assist with BRC-GS & ISO9001 certification including documentation, procedures and training.
- Liaise with customers & suppliers to establish product quality specifications, test protocols & procedures specific to individual products & contracts in conjunction with the appropriate Business Manager & Process Manager. This is particularly essential during product development.
- Provide management with formal reporting of Quality activity, specific benefits achieved & recommendations for future improvements.
- Member of the auditing team to ensure BRC-GS & ISO procedures are working effectively.
- Manage customer complaint investigations to ensure they are conducted properly & to timescale with actions progressed to conclusion.
Key Tasks
- Provide effective day to day support for Quality in the organisation
- Make day-to-day decisions regarding quality of products – a hands on approach is essential.
- Identify where there is business risk due to the lack of competence in key functional areas that may results in weaknesses, either equipment or personnel.
- Work closely with the customer facing side of the business to ensure understanding of customer quality requirements to provide product fit for purpose.
- Assist the Head of Quality & Compliance with customer & supplier quality audits.
- Assist with accreditation audits by external organisations e.g. ISO 9001 & BRC-GS.
- Provide a record keeping system as required to allow quality investigations and analysis.
- Provide expertise and knowledge of product compliance and regulatory requirements for the business. Keep up to date with any changes so the company remains compliant.
- Support the Head of Quality & Compliance in the execution of business objectives.
- Any other tasks to support the business.
