    Finance Director

    28th July 2021

    The successful candidate will be based at the company’s Bollington site and will be the Finance Director for the Security and Speciality Coatings business and the Group Financial Controller. The role will report directly to the Group Finance Director, based in Scotland but will also have an operational reporting line into the S&SC Managing Director.

    Key Result Areas/Principal Accountabilities

    Deliver an efficient and effective financial service to the S&SC business driving best practice to underpin the delivery of operational and commercial excellence within every aspect of the Finance function.

    Ensure that group financial requirements are met in supporting the Group Finance Director.

    • Strategic and Operational Support
    • Support S&SC Managing Director in strategic development and execution
    • Support board, where required, in the investigation of acquisition opportunities
    • Support board to undertake ad hoc strategic reviews
    • Provide commercial support as agreed with the S&SC MD
    • Support the business in maintaining strong relationships with existing customers and building relationships with new customers.
    • Facilitate 3rd part legal support to the organisation
    • S&SC Financial Reporting and Control
    • Responsibility for timeous production of accurate monthly management accounts
    • Preparation and presentation of monthly performance summary
    • Responsibility for timeous production of annual statutory accounts
    • Responsibility for the production of rolling three monthly and full year profit and cash forecasts
    • Group Financial Reporting
    • Responsibility for timeous production of accurate monthly group consolidated management accounts
    • Responsibility for timeous production of group statutory accounts
    • Responsibility for timeous consolidation and presentation of group budget
    • Responsibility for the production of rolling three monthly and full year group profit and cash forecasts
    • Responsibility for ensuring Tullis Russell Coated Papers Ltd is effectively controlled and transactions are recorded and reported correctly.
    • Treasury Management
    • Day-to-day management of bank facilities
    • Overseeing day-to-day treasury requirements
    • Monitor and report adherence to bank covenants
    • Compliance and Control
    • Management of Group credit insurance arrangements
    • Responsibility for the effective operation of internal financial controls
    • Responsibility for compliance with group accounting procedures
    • Responsibility for compliance with appropriate financial reporting standards
    • Responsibility for the planning and preparation of annual budget
    • Responsibility for direct and indirect taxes
    • Responsibility for compliance with external reporting requirements

    Key Requirements for the Role

    Education and Experience

    Professional Accountancy Qualification – CA preferred

    Experience operating as a finance director, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

    Experience to entail the following:

    • Proven track record of financial systems development
    • ERP system implementation and good IT awareness
    • Proven track record of delivering results within a demanding financial reporting framework
    • Proven ability in effectively aligning business objectives and information provision
    • Proven record of effective risk management
    • Proven ability of delivering results through people and teams
    • Experience operating in a senior financial position within a growing business with international operations

    Accounts Assistant

    Job Purpose

    Working under the direction of the Finance & IT Manager, maintain, reconcile and post multiple currency bank accounts. To ensure the Purchase Ledger is administered in a manner that maintains and enhances control. To ensure any discrepancies are highlighted, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.  To process all invoices and purchase related item accurately and promptly, matching to goods received, to ensure that payments are accurately forecasted and made on time and in accordance with Company policy. To support the finance function in areas such as month end tasks, VAT, Intrastats and holiday cover.

     

    Key Tasks

    • Responsible for monthly production of VAT, Intrastats and EIDR Return ensuring compliance with current legislation
    • Responsible for the posting of bank transactions and reconciling the multiple currency bank accounts on a daily basis through Microsoft Excel
    • Maintain the purchase ledger accounts and actively investigate and resolve discrepancies, using the computer system (Donoghues)
    • Make payments in accordance with the Company’s twice-monthly schedule, through internet banking and BACS.
    • Produce reports prior to payment runs and ensure that all relevant information is collated for checking and sign off, to meet payment deadlines
    • Reconcile supplier statements against ledger entries, ensuring that targets are met for clearing outstanding balances
    • Provide monthly reports, collecting, analysing, and reviewing information and outstanding issues relating to the purchase ledger
    • Provide support to the wider accounts function as required, ad-hoc analysis of costs, journals, accruals & prepayments.

     

    Experience/Qualifications

    • Previous Purchase Ledger experience
    • Part AAT qualified or equivalent

    Job Purpose

    The Development Support Scientist is a key member of the technical team, reporting to the Product Development Manager. To support the new product development and technical support activities of the technical team by:

    • Support the Product Development Manager in providing solutions to meet market and Company demands.
    • Maintaining evidence of quality performance through the writing of technical reports & archiving of test samples.
    • Carrying out effective laboratory development tests to improve the right first time rate in trials and manufacturing.
    • The accurate completion of sample preparation and testing, utilising test methods and test equipment.
    • Maintaining the quality documentation from the technical team.

    The role holder should hold a degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline which they can apply in an industrial environment. This understanding and competence should be continuously developed with a proactive approach to training and development.

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Previous laboratory experience in commercial environment
    • Good understanding of material science
    • Enthusiasm and desire to work in a laboratory
