Tullis Russell Coaters help local community open public bridleway

19 Aug 2011

For a number of years, discussions have been in progress to establish a bridleway that would connect Bollington Parish to an existing public bridleway in Rainow parish.

Back in the 1950's, the council were asked to declare this route as a bridleway and even though Rainow, a rural parish, agreed, Bollington declared their side as a footpath.

We at Tullis Russell Coaters recognised the need for a public bridleway within the local community, and being landowners within the proposed route, gave our consent to establish the bridleway.

With the co-operation of other landowners, volunteers and local businesses, the bridleway was finally declared as open on Friday 19thAugust 2011. Our HS&E Officer, Paul Williams, joined both the Mayor of East Cheshire and the Mayor of Bollington, along with many others at the grand opening (as can be seen in the photograph).

At Tullis Russell we take great pride in our Corporate Social Responsibility and we were therefore delighted to be of help to our local community.
